Implementing ‘Going for Growth’ recommendations underway – O’Neill
The local agri-food sector will continue to grow as the recommendations of the Agri-Food Strategy Board’s ‘Going for Growth’ report are implemented, says Agriculture Minister Michelle O’Neill.

The Minister was commenting today after one of the report’s first recommendations, an Agri-Food Loan Scheme, was launched. She said: “‘Going for Growth’ has set challenging growth targets for the local agri-food industry and recognises the need for all parts of the supply chain to be sustainable and profitable. The Agri-Food Loan Scheme will help farmers involved in integrated supply chains access the finance they need to expand production in a sustainable way. This funding is good news for farmers and will help provide a solution to a key challenge identified in Going for Growth.”
The Minister continued: “My Department and others are making good progress on plans for implementation of the range of recommendations made in the Going for Growth report. We hope to bring forward proposals for Executive endorsement shortly and I look forward to announcing further early actions that support the report’s recommendations.”
