Improved maps to issue to enhance 2013 SAF process
Over the coming weeks maps are being issued to farmers to support them in their 2013 Single Farm Payment applications.
~ Tuesday, 18 December 2012
The maps are being issued by DARD in advance of the submission date for Single Application Forms (SAF) to allow farmers to get the correct details pre-printed on their SAF.
Agriculture Minister Michelle O’Neill said: “These improved maps will be issued to all farmers who submitted a Single application form in 2012. It is vital that farmers examine these maps and contact the Department as soon as possible if any of the information is incorrect.
“We have been working very hard to update the maps on the basis of the latest available aerial photography, but only farmers themselves are fully up-to-date with the conditions on the ground. It is vital that you provide us with any corrections which may need to be made as this will help to prevent delays with the processing of your 2013 Single Farm Payment applications.”
The maps are being issued in batches, beginning in the south east, followed by the north and then by the south west. The vast majority of maps should be issued by mid-January. The information contained on the maps is the same information which will be used to pre-print the 2013 SAF, so it is very much in farmer’s interest to have this correct to ease the processing of their Single Farm Payment applications in 2013. Guidance on what to check and how to react to the maps will be issued in the maps pack.
Farmers who need to amend their data should contact DARD Direct on 0300 200 7848.
