Fined for misrecording logsheet

Paul Coffey, Main Road, Portavogie, Co. Down, was fined £500 plus costs at a sitting of Newtownards Magistrates’ Court on Monday 14 December 2009.

Mr. Coffey, the owner / skipper of the fishing vessel Maranatha B377, was found guilty of contravening Council Regulation (EC) No. 2847/93 as read with Commission Regulation No.2807/83 by misrecording fishing areas on his EC logsheet.

1. It is an offence contrary to Article 6 and 17 Council Regulation (EC) No. 2847/93 as read with Commission Regulation 2807/83 to misrecord fishing areas of capture.
