Part-time DARD Fermanagh sub-offices to close

Thursday, 19 July 2007

Fermanagh farmers can now access a full range of Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) services centrally from DARD Direct in Enniskillen.

The DARD Direct pilot at Inishkeen House (which opened in January 2007) provides a “one stop shop” service where the full range of departmental services are provided five days per week from a single location. This reduces the need for customers to travel to more than one location when doing business with DARD. Consequently two offices which offer a limited range of services on a half day per week basis from Irvinestown and Lisnaskea will close on 31 July 2007.

Farmers in the Fermanagh Farmers’ Focus Group were consulted on the change and were content for it to proceed.

The DARD Direct Office in the Killyhevlin Industrial Estate is open to the public, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4.30pm.
