Gildernew meets Jim Nicholson MEP

Agriculture Minister Michelle Gildernew MP MLA has met with Ulster Unionist MEP, Jim Nicholson.

The meeting was held to discuss a wide range of agricultural issues. Mr Nicholson was also accompanied by representatives from the mushroom industry.

Speaking after the meeting the Minister said: “I have held useful discussions on a range of issues with both Jim and the local mushroom industry representatives. I am very aware of the challenges which face this key industry and will be working in partnership with them to help it prosper. It is extremely important to me as Agriculture Minister to develop a strong partnership approach with this industry, which both improves and brings real benefits to all the main stakeholders across the sector.”
