Factors that influence people to engage in culture and sport in Northern Ireland 2011 Findings from February 2011 Omnibus Survey.
The “Experience of Museums in Northern Ireland” bulletin presents analysis on the following topics:
- Visits to museums.
- Factors encouraging respondents to visit museums more often.
- Overall satisfaction with museums provision in Northern Ireland.
The “Experience of library usage in Northern Ireland” presents analysis on the following topics:
- Frequency of visits to libraries.
- Reasons for visiting libraries.
- Satisfaction with last visit to a library.
- Reasons for not visiting libraries.
- Satisfaction with library provision.
The “Factors that influence people to engage in culture and sport in Northern Ireland 2011” presents analysis on the factors influencing people to:
- Engage in sport.
- Engage in the arts.
- Attend museums.
- Attend libraries.

Notes to editors:
- “Experience of Museums in Northern Ireland” and “Experience of Library Usage in Northern Ireland present findings from the 2010/11 Continuous Household Survey (CHS).
- “Factors that influence people to engage in culture and sport in Northern Ireland 2011” presents findings from the February 2011 Omnibus Survey.
- The both surveys are household surveys of those aged 16 and over administered by Central Survey Unit, Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency. The sample for the 2010/2011 CHS consisted of a systematic random sample of 4,500 addresses selected from the Land and Property Services’ list of private addresses. The findings reported in the two CHS bulletins are based on 3,528 respondents.
- The sample for the February 2011 Omnibus survey consisted of a systematic random sample of 2,200 addresses selected from the Land and Property Services’ list of private addresses. The findings reported in the Omnibus bulletin are based on 1,109 respondents.
