Culture Minister welcomes Derry Fleadh decision

DCAL Minister, Caral Ni Chuilin said: "I welcome the decision made today of the Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann to stage the 2013 All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil in the north of Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to further showcase the cultural heritage within Derry.

"The traditional Irish music festival will also benefit the North West economy bringing an estimated 300 000 visitors and generating close to £34m.

"2013 is certainly shaping up to be a cultural extravaganza and I congratulate the Derry bid team on their success."
