River Bush Salmon Station - Open day on 8 July
Tuesday, 30 June 2009The River Bush Salmon Station is holding an open day on 8 July 2009.
The open day is an annual event which offers free guided tours of the Salmon station including the Hatchery and Fish rearing facilities.
Visitors will be able to find out about the work of the station and will gain insight into the life cycle of a salmon and the factors influencing the various stages of the cycle.
Visitors will also find out how the station contributes to the international effort to maintain and improve Salmon stocks in the North Atlantic.
Guided tours will take place every half hour starting at 10am with the last tour at 16.00hrs.
Hatchery staff who will accompany the tours are expert in Salmon conservation so visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions.
Visitors should note that there are areas of deep, fast flowing water at the Salmon Station and they are therefore requested to follow the designated route and to listen to the safety advice of the guides at all times. All children should be accompanied by an adult.
