Ruane welcomes summer scheme reinstatement

Education Minister, Caitríona Ruane, has welcomed the decision by the Western and the Southern Education and Library Boards to fully reinstate the Special School Summer Schemes.

The Minister said: "I met today (Thursday) with representatives from the Western Education and Library Board and the Southern Education and Library Board to discuss these summer schemes, which provide a vital service to parents and children with special needs.

"I welcome the decisions from both Boards to fully reinstate the schemes to two weeks with transport provided. I know that parents and the children involved will also welcome this good news and look forward to enjoying the schemes."
