Ruane welcomes summer scheme reinstatement
Thursday, 1 July 2010Education Minister, Caitríona Ruane, has welcomed the decision by the Western and the Southern Education and Library Boards to fully reinstate the Special School Summer Schemes.
The Minister said: "I met today (Thursday) with representatives from the Western Education and Library Board and the Southern Education and Library Board to discuss these summer schemes, which provide a vital service to parents and children with special needs.
"I welcome the decisions from both Boards to fully reinstate the schemes to two weeks with transport provided. I know that parents and the children involved will also welcome this good news and look forward to enjoying the schemes."
