Education Minister announces new funding for Newry youth club

Education Minister, Caitríona Ruane, has announced funding of £400,000 for St John Bosco Youth Centre in Newry.

The financial assistance will deliver a major refurbishment project for the centre, which is regularly used by over 200 young people.

Announcing the decision, the Minister said: “St John Bosco Youth Centre provides a valuable service for children in Newry. By taking part in a range of activities in the centre, young people are aiding their personal and social development whilst having fun in a safe environment.

“This funding will enable the centre to upgrade its existing premises and ensure it continues to cater for young people in Newry well into the future.”
