Early Years (0-6) Strategy
Thursday, 16 September 2010On 25 June 2010 the Department of Education published for consultation a draft Early Years (0-6) Strategy.
The purpose of the new Strategy is to set out a vision and plan for ensuring better outcomes for children by improving the provision and quality of services to the youngest children, their parents and families for the next 5 years.
The draft Early Years (0-6) Strategy document, and supporting Evidence Based Paper, were published together with a consultation response booklet to help respondents provide a structured response.
As part of the consultation, the Department of Education is holding a series of public events across Northern Ireland and we would welcome your attendance at one of the following venues:

The draft Strategy document is available from the Department of Education’s website, together with a supporting Evidence Based Paper and consultation response document.
The consultation runs until 30 November 2010.
Notes to Editors:
- The consultation will be carried out until 30 November during which time the Department will be seeking views from, parents, children, pre-school providers, relevant interest groups and the general public on the issues raised in the draft Strategy.
