Ruane visits North Coast Integrated College

Education Minister Caitríona Ruane has congratulated the pupils and staff of North Coast Integrated College, Coleraine, on their commitment to protecting the environment.

The Minister visited the school, where she viewed the garden that is maintained by pupils and met with the newly elected Eco-Council Committee members.

The Minister said: “I met with a number of inspiring pupils who are determined to make a positive impact on the health of our planet. The newly elected and innovative Eco-Council discussed their plans to strive towards achieving Eco-School status.

“Pupils here are taking a very proactive approach to making their school more eco-friendly and tackling environmental issues that cause them concern. I applaud the pupils’ efforts in this area and wish them well in their endeavours.”
