Foster Welcomes New Jobs at Dunbia
Wednesday, 5 August 2009Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster welcomed today’s confirmation that Dunbia has successfully created almost 100 new jobs at their pork processing plant in Ballymena.
Welcoming the news the Minister said: “In the current economic climate, the creation of almost 100 new jobs is good news for the meat-processing sector and will deliver economic benefits to the local area.
“Invest Northern Ireland has been working closely with Dunbia since the acquisition, and has offered £600,000 of support to help the company push its growth plans forward.
“Today’s announcement is a result of Dunbia’s business acumen and foresight to expand their operations in challenging economic times. The company recognised the value of an experienced workforce and quality products when they acquired the long-established Stevenson and Company, back in January."
Arlene Foster continued: “The meat sector makes an important contribution to the local economy and I wish Dunbia continued success and growth in the future.”
