Minister launches consultation on amendments to the Firefighters’ Pension Scheme
Public Safety Minister, Edwin Poots, has today launched an eight week consultation on the Firefighters’ Pension Scheme (Amendment) Order (NI) 2014 and the New Firefighters’ Pension Scheme (Amendment) Order (NI) 2014.
~ Monday, 9 December 2013
The proposed Orders seek to amend the Firefighters’ Pension Scheme (NI) 2007 and the New Firefighters’ Pension Scheme (NI) 2007, to reflect changes in Government policy.
Minister Poots said: “This consultation seeks views on proposed changes to the employee contribution rates in both the Firefighters’ Pension Scheme Order (NI) 2007 and the New Firefighter Pension Scheme Order (NI) 2007. While primarily aimed at the Fire and Rescue Service, members of the pension scheme and representative bodies, I welcome all responses and would encourage all who have an interest in these proposals to make their views known.”
The consultation will end on 31 January 2014.
