Have your say on the future of your health and social care system: Poots
Do not miss the opportunity to have your say on the future of health and social care in Northern Ireland.
~ Monday, 12 November 2012
That was the message from Health Minister Edwin Poots as the first of around 760,000 leaflets encouraging people to get involved in the consultation on Transforming Your Care were distributed by the Health and Social Care Board (HSCB) to homes across Northern Ireland.
On October 9, the Minister launched, in the Assembly, Transforming Your Care: Vision to Action, the consultation document summarising the changes proposed to Northern Ireland’s Health and Social Care system.
From today (November 12) every household in Northern Ireland will be sent a leaflet with information on how everyone can get involved and give their views on the biggest change in health and social care delivery in a generation. Sixteen public meetings, organised by the HSCB, will also take place across Northern Ireland starting in Belfast on November 19.
Mr Poots said: “This consultation exercise seeks your views - as patients, clients, services users, carers, service providers and citizens - about how we respond to the proposals set out in Transforming Your Care. We aim to ensure that everyone is informed and has the opportunity to make their views known. I would therefore encourage you to speak up and be part of the delivery of change.”
“Taking part in the process is simple,” said Mr Poots, “You can log onto the consultation website, http://www.tycconsultation.hscni.net and complete the online questionnaire, or attend the nearest public meeting to you and join in on the debate locally.”
The Minister concluded: “This is a unique chance to reshape our Health and Social Care system to improve on the quality of care and the outcomes for users. I want everyone to help contribute to that change.”
Details about all public meetings can be viewed at http://www.tycconsultation.hscni.net and in local press.
Minister Poots will not be in attendance at the public meetings.
