Ballymoney car breaker fined £7,500 for illegal waste offences

Eddie Torrens (51), of Farren Road, Ballymoney, was today fined £7,500 plus £52 costs at North Antrim Magistrates’ Court for a breach of waste management legislation.

Mr Torrens was charged under Article 4(1)(b) of The Waste and Contaminated Land (Northern Ireland) Order 1997, for operating a scrap yard or authorised treatment facility, without a waste management licence.
