Newry man fined £500 for unauthorised signage

A County Down firm was today fined £500 plus £75 legal costs and £13 court costs at Newry Magistrates’ Court for a planning offence.

Rock Domestic Appliances of Cloghanramer Road, Newry, was charged with displaying unauthorised signage from a large lorry trailer sign at Poyntzpass Road, Druminargal.

Planning Service brought the charge under Article 84 of the Planning (NI) Order 1991 which states it is an offence to display an advertisement without consent.
