Antrim development company fined £600 for waste offence
Monday, 2 March 2009A Co. Antrim development company was today fined a total of £600 and court costs of £136 at Antrim Magistrates’ court.
Hagan Homes Ltd of Templepatrick Road, Ballyclare, Co Antrim pleaded guilty to one breach of waste management legislation, disclosed during a routine site visit by officers of the Northern Ireland Environment Agency (formerly Environment and Heritage Service) on 18 September 2007.

1. The charge related to a breach of Article 4(1)(b) of the Waste & Contaminated Land (Northern Ireland) Order 1997, i.e. to treat, keep or dispose of controlled waste, or knowingly cause or knowingly permit controlled waste to be treated, kept or disposed of
(i) in or on any land, or
(ii) by means of any mobile plant
except under and in accordance with a waste management licence.
