On the maintenance side significant resurfacing schemes have been completed on the B49 Berryhill Road at both Donemana and Artigarvan and the resurfacing scheme on the A5 at Sion Mills is ongoing.”
Speaking in advance of the meeting Roads Service’s Western Division Manager, Mr Pat Doherty, welcomed the level of investment in local transport and safety measures in the Strabane District Council area. Other schemes included in this years programme include the road realignment scheme at Bellspark Road/Peacock Road in Sion Mills, a collision remedial scheme on the A5 Victoria Road at its junction with Loughnease Road and the commencement of the road realignment scheme at Berryhill Road, Artigarvan between Pine Road and Artigarvan Primary School. Traffic calming schemes are planned for Allen Park in Donemana and in Clady village and a Safer Routes to Schools project is being provided at St Patrick’s Primary School in Castlederg.
