M2 Motorway Closures
Wednesday, 21 January 2009Roads Service announces closures of the M2 motorway over the next three weeks.
Closures are required to allow resurfacing work to be undertaken on the M2 Motorway between Sandyknowes and Greencastle junctions. A number of closures will be overnight, however, the city-bound carriageway of the M2 will be reduced to a single lane between Sandyknowes and Greencastle Junctions on Sunday 25 January and Sunday 1 February.
During these lane restrictions, the city-bound on-slip at Sandyknowes will also be closed. The city-bound carriageway of the M2 will be completely closed between Sandyknowes and Greencastle Junctions on Sunday 8 February.
A signed diversion route will be in operation involving Ballyhenry Road, Manse Road, Prince Charles Way, O’Neill Road, Station Road, Shore Road and the M5.
Drivers using the M2 motorway should expect delays and allow extra time for their journeys.
