A2 Tillysburn Roundabout - Major Resurfacing Works
Friday, 31 July 2009A £250,000 road resurfacing scheme on the A2 Tillysburn Junction, Belfast will start on Monday 3 August 2009 for four weeks.
Speaking about the works Colin Brown, Network Maintenance Manager for Roads Service Eastern Division, said: “This scheme is being undertaken to improve the safety and structural integrity of the road. Roads Service has carefully programmed the works operations and the traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public. That said, over 55,000 vehicles use this junction each day and so some delays will be inevitable. Roads Service apologises for any inconvenience, however it is impossible to complete a scheme like this without some disruption.”
Between Monday 3 August and Tuesday 11 August 2009 overnight working will be carried out with road and lane closures in place from 1930 hours to 0600 hours the following morning, with the exception of Saturday 8 August when the overnight work will continue until 0800 hours. Work will also be taking place on three Sundays, 9, 23 and 30 August, between 0300 hours and 1200 hours.
Diversionary routes will be signed during these periods.
The above dates are subject to the progress of the works and favourable weather conditions. While every reasonable effort will be made to progress the works as quickly and efficiently as possible, motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.
