McCausland announces £7,500 funding boost for Coalisland NRA
Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland has announced a £7,500 funding for a feasibility study of community venues in Coalisland.

The funding will enable a feasibility study to be carried out across the Coalisland Neighbourhood Renewal Area.
The feasibility study will be delivered using the following method:
- Demand - To establish the level of demand for this centre and the extent of any unmet need.
- Community Facility – space needs and property development issues.
- Funding (source out other avenues of funding).
- Study the possibility of developing a Social Economy Business.
Nelson McCausland said: “This is good news for the people in Coalisland. The programme will help enhance the levels of community, voluntary and statutory interaction in the area and build confidence in people.
“I recognise that if we are to tackle the long term spiral of deprivation we must improve the life chances of those living in our most vulnerable communities. It is vital that all our people, regardless of background are given the opportunity to live their lives in an inclusive society."
The programme will be managed by Supporting Communities NI .
To date, the total amount of money spent on Neighbourhood Renewal in Coalisland is over £1.8million.

- The Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy ‘People and Place’ was published in June 2003 to close the gap between the quality of life for people in the most deprived neighbourhoods and the rest of society. The Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy has four interlinking strategic objectives.
