McCausland encourages collaboration among NI funding organisations
Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland welcomed representatives from funding organisations in government and non government at a Fundersí Seminar held at the Big Lottery Offices.
~ Thursday, 7 March 2013
The event, aimed at developing awareness and a greater co-operation between funding organisations, was attended by more than 14 organisations from across Northern Ireland.
Speaking at the event, Minister McCausland said: “I’m glad to see many key funding stakeholders present. This is an opportunity to explore how we can enhance collaboration and partnership working between Government and non Government organisations. I hope this will be the first of a number of meetings which will improve our ability to deliver our programmes of activity in a more joined up and collaborative manner.”
The Minister continued: “The economic and civic society conditions that we face over the coming years clearly require a more joined up response from funders. Shared objectives, shared risk taking and shared resourcing can give us the opportunity for maximising shared impact. I believe that by working better together it is possible to extend our reach into all areas of Northern Ireland society, ensure that the impact of our interventions is strengthened and verifiably improve the standard of living for all of our citizens.”
