The new development of 21 family homes by Fold Housing Association has been provided with part funding from the Northern Ireland Executive. All have been allocated to families from the social housing waiting list.

After viewing the new houses and speaking to residents, Minister McCausland said: “The delivery of decent, affordable, sustainable housing is a key priority for my Department. Having a warm comfortable home is one of the most fundamental rights a person can have. Fold Housing Association is to be congratulated for putting together such an impressive package.

“This continues to be an area of high housing need and this new scheme has taken 21 families from the waiting list and provided them with the best of modern, energy efficient housing. I wish all well in their new homes.”

The Minister added: “I also want to congratulate Fold on its recent merger with Gosford Housing Association. Both organisations have made a tremendous contribution to meeting housing need all across the country and I wish you every success for the future.”

Fold’s Chief Executive, John McLean commented: “Fold is delighted to have been involved with the provision of 21 new homes in this area of high housing stress. These homes have been designed to provide high quality, safe and energy efficient homes which can be adapted to meet any future needs. I would like to thank the Housing Executive and the Department for Social Development for their support in this project.”
