Confiscation order against Belfast woman
Thursday, 15 April 2010The Social Security Agency Financial Investigation Unit obtained a Confiscation Order against a woman at Belfast Crown Court today.
On 4 September 2009, the defendant was found guilty of fraudulently claiming social security benefits and was sentenced to two years imprisonment suspended for three years.
At today’s confiscation hearing, the Court agreed that the loss to the Department through the defendant’s criminal activity amounted to £28,498. The Court granted a Confiscation Order in this amount.
