Shankill Jobs & Benefits Office closed after threat
Thursday, 22 April 2010The Shankill Jobs and Benefits Office closed on Thursday 22nd April after a member of Social Security Agency Staff received an anonymous threat.
The office is currently closed to customers calling in person. Details of the threat have been passed to the PSNI. Customers wishing to contact the Shankill Jobs and Benefits Office can do so by phoning 028 9025 1456. It is understood that the office will be open tomorrow.
Social Development Minister, Margaret Ritchie said: "This threat is deplorable. This closure will impact on the most vulnerable people in our society. I hope that the matter can be resolved as soon as possible so that services can get back to normal."
She added: "It is imperative that all staff are able to work in a comfortable and safe environment, free from threat."
