Stewartstown man convicted of benefit fraud

A man has been convicted at Dungannon Magistrates' Court yesterday for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

A man failed to declare capital while claiming Income Support totalling £2,889. He was given two months imprisonment suspended for two years, a £200 fine and ordered to pay witness costs of £180.23.

He is also required to repay the money he wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
