Three convicted of benefit fraud at Craigavon Court
Monday, 9 August 2010Three people were convicted at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
A Lurgan man was given 100 hours community service and ordered to pay court costs of £19 for wrongful encashment of Jobseekers Allowance totalling £339.
A Portadown man was given one month imprisonment suspended for two years and ordered to pay court costs of £37 for exaggerating his incapacity while claiming Disability Living Allowance totalling £3,645.
A Portadown woman was given 100 hours community service and ordered to pay court costs of £37 for working while claiming Income Support totalling £4,327.
All are also required to repay any outstanding money they wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
