Dungannon man convicted of benefit fraud

A man was convicted at Dungannon Magistrates’ Court yesterday for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

The Dungannon man (50) was given two months imprisonment, suspended for two years, fined £300 and ordered to pay court costs of £31 for failure to declare capital while claiming Housing Benefit totalling £5,020.

He is required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
