Londonderry man convicted of benefit fraud

A man was convicted at Londonderry Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

The man (50) was given a two month prison sentence suspended for 18 months for failure to declare capital while claiming Income Support totalling £11,465.

He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
