Antrim woman convicted of benefit fraud

A woman was convicted at Antrim Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

She claimed Income Support totalling £9,363 while failing to declare capital. She was given a twelve month conditional discharge and ordered to pay court costs of £52.

She will also have to repay the money she wrongfully obtained to the Social Secuirty Agency.

This brings to 412 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
