Two convicted of benefit fraud at Antrim Court

Two women were convicted at Antrim Magistrates’ Court yesterday for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.

An Antrim woman failed to declare her partner was working while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £4,683. She was fined £250.

A second Antrim woman failed to declare capital while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £11,408. She was fined £200 and ordered to pay court costs of £73.

Both are also required to repay outstanding money they wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
