Newry man convicted of benefit fraud
Monday, 21 June 2010A man was convicted at Newry Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.
The Newry man failed to declare he was working while claiming Income Support totalling £4,857. He was given 100 hours community service and ordered to pay £40 court costs.
He is also required to repay any remaining money he wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
