Two men convicted of benefit fraud at Armagh Court

Two men were convicted at Armagh Magistrates' Court today for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.

A Richhill man failed to declare capital while claiming Jobseekers Allowance, Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £3,830. He was given a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £40 court costs.

A Belfast man failed to declare he was working while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £6,013. He was given a £400 fine and ordered to pay £40 court costs.

Both are also required to repay any outstanding money they wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
