Two Belfast women convicted of benefit fraud

Two women were convicted at Belfast Magistrates' Court yesterday for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.

The first Belfast woman was given a £600 fine and ordered to pay £22 court costs for wrongful encashment of Income Support totalling £221.

This Belfast woman was given a six month probation order and ordered to pay £31court costs for failure to declare capital while claiming Income Support totalling £15,094.

Both are also required to repay any outstanding money they wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
