Five convicted of benefit fraud at Belfast Court
Five people were convicted at Belfast Magistrates' Court yesterday for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.

A woman (29) from Belfast was given a 140 hours community service and ordered to pay court costs of £22 for wrongful encashment of Income Support totalling £876.
A Newtownabbey man (64) was fined £200 and ordered to pay court costs of £31 for failing to declare capital while claiming Income Support totalling £2,634.
A second Belfast woman (47) was given two months imprisonment suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay court costs of £34 for failing to declare employment while claiming Income Support totalling £15,337.
A third woman (28) from Belfast was fined £400 and ordered to pay court costs of £42 for failing to declare employment while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £254.
A Finaghy woman (52) was fined £350 and ordered to pay court costs of £31 for failing to declare capital while claiming Income Support totalling £12,233.
All are also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
