Lurgan man convicted of benefit fraud

A man was convicted at Craigavon Magistrates’ court yesterday for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

A Lurgan man claimed Housing Benefit totalling £5,122 while failing to declare capital. He was fined £150 and ordered to pay court costs of £25.

He will also have to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
