Ballymena man convicted of benefit fraud

A man was convicted at Ballymena Crown court today for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.

A Ballymena man claimed Income Support, Incapacity Benefit and Housing Benefit totalling £21,523 while failing to declare employment. He was given a 12 month prison sentence suspended for 18 months.

He is also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
