Two convicted of Benefit Fraud at Craigavon Court
Monday, 8 March 2010Two people were convicted at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
The first was given a two year conditional discharge for failure to declare employment while claiming Income Support totalling £3,309.
The second was given a two month custodial sentence suspended for two years for failure to declare employment while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £5,240.
Both are also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 88 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
