Newtownards Man Convicted of Benefit Fraud
Tuesday, 11 May 2010A man was convicted at Newtownards Magistrates’ Court yesterday for claiming benefits he was not entitled to.
He was sentenced to three months imprisonment suspended for two years and ordered to pay £31 court costs for failure to declare employment while claiming Income Support and Incapacity Benefit totalling £5,595.
He is also required to repay the money he wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
