Antrim woman convicted of benefit fraud

A woman was convicted at Antrim Magistrates’ Court yesterday for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

She was fined £1,000 and ordered to pay court costs of £58 for failure to declare employment while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £7,847.

The woman is also required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 366 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
