Proposals for the future of Dungannon town centre put on display

Tuesday, 3 November 2009

Social Development Minister, Margaret Ritchie, today announced the publication of draft proposals for the future regeneration of Dungannon Town Centre.

The draft Master-plan for Dungannon Town Centre will, from 3 November, be exhibited in Ranfurly House in Dungannon for members of the public to visit and express their views on it.

Margaret Ritchie said: “This exhibition showcases the proposals for the future regeneration of Dungannon Town Centre. It presents in draft form, innovative and exciting ideas to secure continuing regeneration and investment in this historic town.

It is important that the people of Dungannon and the surrounding areas take the opportunity to view these proposals, and to share their comments with us. This will ensure that the final documents will represent the views of the people who will be most directly affected by these developments.”

Mayor of Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council, Councillor Robert Mulligan, said: “The draft Master-plan has been developed using a co-ordinated approach with a number of key stakeholders. This is an ideal opportunity for the business community and residents of Dungannon to have their say on the future development and reinvigoration of the town centre. I would urge everyone to take part in this consultation exercise to ensure that the finished plan has the input from all sectors.”

Members of the public are invited to view the visual proposals and to feedback via e-mail or the response sheets provided at each venue. All comments received will be taken into account in the preparation of the final document.
