Coleraine woman convicted of benefit fraud

A woman was convicted at Coleraine Magistrates’ Court today for claiming benefits she was not entitled to.

The woman was given a six month custodial sentence suspended for three years and ordered to pay £68 court costs for wrongful encashment of Income Support totalling £505.

She is required to repay the money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.

This brings to 330 the total number of successful prosecutions this year.
