Three convicted of benefit fraud at Antrim Court
Tuesday, 7 September 2010Three people were convicted at Antrim Magistrates’ Court yesterday for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
An Antrim woman was (41) fined £750 and ordered to pay court costs of £91 for failure to declare employment while claiming Job Seekers Allowance, Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £1,577.
An Antrim man (40) was fined £500 and ordered to pay court costs of £55 for failure to declare employment while claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £3,417.
Another Antrim man (31) was fined £300 and ordered to pay court costs of £85 for failure to declare employment while claiming Job Seekers Allowance totalling £5,144.
All are also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
