Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland has announced funding of over £190,000 for refurbishment and fit-out of the Gardeners Hall building in Dungannon.

The funding will be used to carry out a range of refurbishment works including new kitchens, replacing the roof and windows, upgrading the electrics and improving the outside of the building and grounds.

Minister McCausland said: “This is great news for the people of Dungannon and will provide real and significant benefits for residents in the Neighbourhood Renewal Area. The Gardeners Hall will provide opportunities for residents to access a range of activities such as training and education schemes, health programmes and cross community activities. The refurbishment work will allow the hall to be used by all ages within the Neighbourhood Renewal Area.”

The project will be managed by Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council.

To date, the total amount of money spent on Neighbourhood Renewal in Dungannon is over £1.7 million.
