Statement from the Office of The First Minister and deputy First Minister

The First Minister and deputy First Minister are determined to see the new Victims and Survivors Commission put on a sound and durable legislative footing at the earliest opportunity. To achieve this they have agreed to amend the Victims and Survivors Bill. However, this requires some legislative drafting and, as a result, the Consideration Stage scheduled for today is being put back.

The OFMDFM Committee will be briefed and the agreed position will be put to the Assembly at the earliest opportunity.
