Gerry Kelly welcomes Jeffrey Donaldson as new Junior Minister

Junior Minister, Gerry Kelly, today welcomed the appointment of Jeffrey Donaldson as a new Junior Minister.

“I want to congratulate Jeffery Donaldson in his appointment as Junior Minister and look forward to working with him in tackling the many issues and challenges we face in the weeks and months ahead.

“As an Executive we have as a key goal a vibrant, prosperous economy, political stability and continued peace. As Junior Ministers we are determined that the most vulnerable people in our society, children and young people as well as older people, have an opportunity to contribute to and benefit from the increased prosperity that such a society will bring. This is something that all Executive Ministers signed up to and that Junior Ministers will be prioritising,” said Mr Kelly.

Mr Donaldson was sworn into office this afternoon and replaces Ian Paisley Jnr who resigned from the post this morning.
