Junior Minister Kelly welcomes funding for An Chultúrlann
Friday, 5 March 2010Junior Minister Gerry Kelly, MLA, today visited An Chultúrlann to congratulate the project promoters on completing the funding package for the new extension to the Irish language and cultural centre on the Falls Road.
Speaking at the event Minister Kelly described An Chultúrlann as a wonderful destination and is a magnificent example of the ingenuity and endeavour of Irish language and cultural activists in this city.
Mr Kelly said: "Working along with the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure and other departments, OFMDFM has, through the Integrated Development Fund, been able to support this project with the funding that it so richly deserves. I believe that this is a concrete example of what can be achieved when we all work together to make a difference to the lives of the people that we serve and represent.
"I would like to pay tribute to all those who have worked so hard to bring this project to fruition.
“The investment being made in An Chultúrlann will act as a catalyst for the emerging An Ceathrú Gaeltachta. I would like to wish those who have spearheaded this innovative project every success.”
