Robinson opens new £7million Douglas and Grahame Ltd headquarters

First Minister Rt Hon Peter D. Robinson MP MLA has officially opened the new state of the art headquarters of men’s clothing specialist, Douglas and Grahame Limited, in Carrickfergus.

The company has, over the past 85 years, become one of the UK’s leading suppliers of fashion and contemporary men’s and boyswear to independent retailers and department stores throughout the UK, Ireland, and worldwide.

Speaking at the official opening Mr Robinson said: “Douglas and Grahame’s new headquarters represents a tremendous boost for our local economy and is a further sign of the growing confidence being displayed by the business community here.

“Many of our local companies here are stepping up their investment to ensure they are best positioned to take advantage of recovery when it comes.

“Douglas and Grahame is a home grown success story leading the way in its field, not just in the UK but internationally, with its brand names renowned worldwide for their quality.

“Douglas and Grahame has been at the forefront of innovation in business. Its investment of £7million into modernising its design, production, stock control and distribution facilities will ensure that it keeps pace with its international competition.

“It is an example of business best practice, its approach to business has enabled it to achieve a high level of competitiveness and to prosper and grow when other gents clothing companies could no longer compete.

The new headquarters building is located at 15 Sloefield Drive, Carrickfergus.
