25 November 2008 - Farmer convicted at Ballymena Magistrates' Court

Mr Rodney McCann, Larne Road, Ballynure, Ballymena was convicted in Ballymena Magistrates' Court on 25 November 2008 of one charge under the Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies Regulations (NI) 2006

Mr McCann was given a conditional discharge for 12 months plus £49 costs.

Notes to Editors:

1. Mr McCann was given a conditional discharge in respect of one charge of transporting an animal born or reared in the United Kingdom before 1 August 1996, to a slaughterhouse for human consumption, contrary to Regulation 2(a) of Schedule 2, Part 1 of the Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies Regulations (NI) 2006.
